Understanding Your Story

Welcome

Have you ever felt like your life is out of control? Like difficult experiences keep happening, leaving you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. You may not have the words to describe what you're experiencing, but deep down, you know something doesn't feel right.

I'm Cheryl St Amour, a trauma-informed therapist providing trauma counselling in Victoria, BC. Together, we can make sense of what's happening and find a path forward that feels right for you.

I provide trauma-informed counselling for adults, youth ages 10–18, couples, and families. Using a compassionate, strength-based approach, I support clients experiencing trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, and other difficult life experiences. Together, we'll work to understand your experiences, build on your strengths, and move toward healing.

Navigating Life’s Changes

There isn’t always one defining moment that leaves you feeling trapped. Sometimes it's years of carrying experiences that aren’t yours. Sometimes it’s the loss of a loved one, a traumatic event. And sometimes, it’s waking up and realizing that you don’t know who you are anymore.

Trauma isn’t always loud. More often than not, it shows up quietly and manifests in anxiety, exhaustion, disconnection and feeling you’re stuck in survival mode.

You don’t have to figure it out alone. If you’re looking for trauma counselling in Victoria BC, support is available.

How Counselling Helps

Just like no two people have the same experience, there is no one-size-fits-all approach to counselling. After 30 years of clinical experience, our sessions are tailored to your needs, mindful of your experiences, and taken at your pace to help you reach your goals.

Trauma Counselling

Trauma Counselling

It could be a single traumatic event, or maybe it’s years of complex trauma, but trauma-informed therapy helps you understand how your experiences affect your thoughts, emotions, relationships and nervous system.

Grief & Loss Counselling

Grief & Loss Counselling

Grief can take on many shapes. I work with you through the loss of loved ones, divorce, illness, disabilities, pet loss, and life transitions that leave you feeling untethered.

Addictions Counselling

Addictions Counselling

I offer a judgment-free space to let you explore whatever stage of change you are in.

Couples & Family Counselling

Couples & Family Counselling

Even the strongest relationships take work. When communication becomes strained and partners feel unresolved, counselling can help you find a supportive space to rebuild trust so you can navigate life’s challenges together.

Child & Youth Counselling

Child & Youth Counselling

Processing trauma as a child is different from processing trauma as an adult. I take an age-appropriate approach to helping young people understand and navigate their emotions.

Meet Cheryl

Come as you are.

Life can be messy. I know, I’ve been there too. That’s why when we have our sessions, there’s no need to pretend you’re ok.

After more than 30 years as a clinical counsellor helping individuals navigate some of life’s most difficult experiences, I’m here to offer you a safe space, without judgment, pressure or expectations.

I approach your experiences with curiosity and help you recognize the strength you’ve acquired along the way. Together, we will build practical tools to help you move forward with confidence and hope.

I work with adults, youth ages 10–18, couples, and families both in-person and online.

I believe healing begins when you feel safe enough to be seen, heard, and understood.
